| In AISFF2005, 1053 films from 44 countries of all around the world were submitted, and 600 films among them were from overseas. After some heated debate and cautious selection, 5 members of the preliminary jury - 2 programmers, 2 directors and 1 film producer – have finally chosen 55 films from 26 countries for international competition, and the result is a splendid feast of shorts. The films in this section have higher quality than ever, and suggest the present tense of contemporary short films. Especially this year, animated films are pre-eminent regardless of their production country, which will give the audience joy of watching animations with diverse styles and messages. In addition, the new category “5 Minutes in the Air”, collection of shorts less than 5 minutes, will present the unique experience of watching ‘shorts of the shorts’ in flights before the festival. |
